The controversial anti-terror poster
|
CAIRO,
May 14 (IslamOnline.net) – A British anti-terrorism poster,
depicting a pair of eyes surrounded by a black background, and
distributed across England and Wales, drew ire from leading mainstream
Muslim groups, dubbing it " unfair, counterproductive and a
stupid mistake", and calling for its immediate withdrawal, a
British paper reported Friday, May 14.
The
poster, urging people to ring a confidential hotline with information
about terrorism, was slammed at a Muslim Safety Forum meeting
Wednesday, May 12, at New Scotland Yard, according to the Guardian.
British
Islamic groups say the poster looks like a Muslim woman with most of
her face covered and mosques refused to display it, according to the
paper.
