KHAN
YUNIS, October 6 (IslamOnline.net) - Seham El-Badrasawy embraced the
picture of her martyr child and kissed it tenderly, wondering: Why did
they kill him? He was still an 18-month old baby who hated nobody.
Then she kept crying while supplicating to Allah to grant her
patience.
Women
gathered around Mrs. Badrasawy in her house in this Gaza Strip city of
Khan Yunis, in an attempt to calm her down and console her for the
death of her youngest children.
Public
Relations director of Al-Shefaa hospital in Gaza city Dr. Gomaa
El-Saqqa told IslamOnline.net that a Palestinian infant, Mostafa, died
Saturday, October 4, after being injured by Israeli tank shrapnel on
Thursday, October 2, while playing in front of his house.
'Most
Beautiful Child'
Mrs.
Badrasawy told IOL about the most difficult moments in her life.
"Mostafa
was my youngest. He filled our life with joy and happiness. My husband
went downstairs followed by Mostafa. In a matter of moments, I heard
fire shots followed by cries from upstairs. I went out to see what
happened.
"I
saw my husband hurrying to the third floor roof then he came down
quickly with Mostafa in his arms, covered with blood. I felt terrified
and went into a coma," she said.
"He
was an innocent and a pretty child. Why did they kill him," she
wondered, as tears rolled down on her cheeks.
The
martyr's cousin, Doaa, witnessed the incident as she was on the house
roof at that moment.
"Before
reaching the roof, Mostafa was shot by an Israeli tank. I saw him
falling to the ground and hurried to find his blood gushing forth of
his neck and mouth. I carried him to his father who immediately took
him from me," the 10-year-old girl said.
Mostafa's
father, who works inside Israel, said that he took Mostafa to Al-Amal
hospital, from where he was moved by an ambulance to Al-Shefaa
hospital in Gaza, as a surgery was performed later.
Shortly
after the operation, he was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit
(ICU), where he breathed his last.
He,
however, did not report the death as a result of an Israeli attack,
fearing that Israeli authorities withdrew his work permit.
Following
the noon prayers on Saturday, thousands of Palestinians paid farewell
to the child martyr, who was wrapped up in a Palestinian flag and
covered with flowers.
The
Palestinians shouted anti-Israeli slogans while they were laying
Mostafa to rest, urging resistance factions to take revenge of the
Israeli soldiers, as some armed Palestinians shot fire in the air to
express their indignation and denunciation of such a heinous crime.
