By Yasser al-Bana, IOI Correspondent

GAZA CITY, October 5 (IslamOnline.net) – Hanadi Jaradat, the 29-year-old Palestinian female lawyer who carried out Haifa operation on Saturday, October 4, was avenging her brother Fady and cousin Saleh who were gunned down by Israeli occupation forces in June, her sister told  IslamOnline.net.

"We are proud of her; she restored our dignity and solaced our broken hearts. Thank God, Fady's blood did not go unavenged," Fadya said.

Ms. Jaradat blew herself up in the popular Maxim restaurant in the northern port city of Haifa, killing 20 people, including herself.

"Hanadi has very much changed since Fady won martyrdom…She started sitting alone for long hours and pledged to avenge her brother and other Palestinians killed by the Israeli occupation army," he sister added.

She said that Ms. Jaradat was singled out for her unprecedented courage, feared nothing and had strong personality.

"But she was at the same time sociable, lovable and notable for her altruism," Fadya said in tears.

Ms. Jaradat was born on September 22, 1975, in the West Bank city of Jenin. She studied law in the Jordanian Jerash University and graduated in 1999.

Last Memories

Fadya said that the night before Hanadi's martyrdom they spent the night talking about the upcoming wedding of a third sister.

"Our father asked Hanadi to get some sleep but she told him she would first finish her reading of the Qur'an," recalled the sister.

Ms. Jaradat left her home at around 7:30 (5:30 GMT) on Saturday morning and did not say good bye.

As clocks ticked towards the bombing, the Israeli radio said that a Palestinian female carried out the operation in the packed restaurant.

Hanadi is the sixth female martyr since the start of Al-Aqsa Intifada in September 2000.

Wafa Edris kicked off the female martyr operations on January 28, 2002 in West Jerusalem. At least two people were killed, including herself, and more than seventy people were injured.

Dareen Abu Eisha blew herself up in an Israeli military checkpoint north of the West Bank on February 27, 2002, leaving three Israeli soldiers killed.

On March 29, 2002, Ayat al-Akhras blew herself up in a popular market in West Jerusalem, killing two Israelis and injuring dozens.

Andaleeb Takata, from Bethlehem, carried out her operation on April 12, 2002, killing six Israelis and injuring 85 others in occupied Jerusalem.

Heba Azem Draghema, who was a student in Al-Quds Open University, detonated her explosives belt in the Israeli coastal town of Netanya on May 19, 2002, killing three Israeli soldiers and injuring 56 others.
