OCCUPIED
JERUSALEM, July 15 (Islamonline.net & News Agencies) - Hours after
Israeli occupation forces breached the truce by abducting six
Palestinian activists, an Israeli man was killed and two others injured
in an attack in Tel Aviv claimed Tuesday, July 15, by Al-Aqsa Martyrs
Brigades, an offshoot of Fatah.
Israeli
troops had abducted Monday overnight three members of Fatah in Nablus
and three other Palestinians, including two members of the Islamic
Jihad, near the west bank town of Al-Khalil, claiming they were on its
wanted list.
In
Tel Aviv, a Palestinian, who failed to enter a seaside promenade,
stabbed a doorman at the Tarabin Club in the neck before fleeing.
He
then attacked a woman and security guard at a nearby restaurant, who was
less seriously injured, an Israeli police source told Agence
France-Presse (AFP).
According
to Israeli public radio, an Israeli lawyer at the scene seized a gun
from one of the injured guards, gave chase and shot the Palestinian in
the leg.
Al-Aqsa
Martyrs Brigades, Fatah’s armed wing, claimed responsibility for the
attack, asserting it came in retaliation for daily Israeli aggressions
against innocent Palestinians.
"The
Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades carried out an operation of quality in the
heart of historic Palestine when a fighter of the martyr Ali Julani
group tried to enter a Jaffa restaurant at dawn," the statement
said.
It
underlined the attack was "in response to Zionist terrorism as
demonstrated by the occupation of Palestinian and confirms (the group's)
determination to continue resistance and holy war."
The
Brigades "swear to avenge the blood of the innocent martyrs,"
added the statement.
Major
Palestinian resistance groups - including Hamas and the Islamic Jihad -
announced late last month a conditional three-month of anti-Israel
attacks while Fatah came up with a six-month unconditional ceasefire.
Al-Aqsa
Brigades had issued a statement reaffirming commitment to the truce, but
vowed to resume resistance operations if Israeli occupation forces
continued aggressions against the Palestinian people.
Palestinian
factions said commitment to the truce is conditioned on an end to
Israel’s policies of incursions and detention in Palestinian-ruled
areas.
