GAZA
CITY, May 14 (IslamOnline.net & News Agencies) - Israeli
occupation forces killed two Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza
Strip on Wednesday, May 14, raising the death toll to five for the day
and to 37 for the last two weeks.
A
12-year-old boy was shot in the head in the grounds of the main
hospital in the northern West bank city of Jenin when Israeli soldiers
opened fire on a nearby house where they claimed “wanted” people
were holed up, a Palestinian medical sources was quoted as saying.
The
boy was killed and six others, also inside the hospital compound, were
wounded in the shooting, hospital nurse Said Atatra said, Agence
France-Presse (AFP) said.
"When
the shooting started, many of the civilians and neighbors of the house
took refuge inside the hospital walls," he explained.
According
to several witnesses, two women and three girls aged four, six and
nine, were used as human shields by soldiers firing at the building
allegedly sheltering the Palestinian gunmen.
A
few miles to the south, the army raided the narrow streets of the city
of Nablus' old quarter, sparking clashes with gunmen, Palestinian
security sources said.
A
member of Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, was shot dead and some 25 young
stone-throwers wounded, the sources added.
The
invading forces also abducted a number of inhabitants of the area,
eyewitnesses told IslamOnline.net.

Israeli
forces also killed a 12-year-old Palestinian boy in Jenin

The
West Bank flare-up capped a day of violence that started with bloody
army raids in the Gaza Strip, when three
Palestinian policemen were killed and three others wounded by Israeli forces.
Twenty-six
other Palestinians were also wounded, 23 of them by a missile fired
from a U.S.-made Israeli helicopter gunship, during an Israeli
incursion into Khan Yunis, according to Palestinian security sources.
In
an interview with IslamOnline.net, Palestinian public security sources
said a unit of Israeli commandoes sneaked into Wadi Gaza area in the
south of the Gaza City and opened fire at the Palestinian security
personnel.
More
than 20 Israeli armored vehicles, accompanied by three bulldozers and
covered by helicopter gunships, stormed into the Khan Yunis
Palestinian refugee camp from the direction of the Jewish settlement
of Neve Dekalim to the west.
An
Israeli army spokesman confirmed the incursion into Khan Yunis, saying
its objective was to put a halt to mortar fire coming from the area.
In
the West Bank, Israeli troops raided the northern refugee camp of
Tulkarem and abducted seven Palestinians.

Meanwhile,
Palestinian Health Ministry put at 27 the number of Palestinians
killed by Israeli occupation forces in the last two weeks.
“The
martyrs included nine children, the youngest is a two-year-old toddler
who was shot in the head and abdomen,” Palestinian Health Minister
Kamal Al-Sharafi told reporters.
On
Thursday, May 1, Israeli forces killed 13
people and wounded 55 others, mostly children, when they thrust into a
densely populated area in Gaza City.
More
than 234 Palestinians were also injured during the Israeli incursions,
including 146 in the West Bank and 88 others in the Gaza Strip,
al-Sharafi added.
Solana
Scraps Israel Visit
On
the diplomatic front, European Foreign Policy Coordinator Javier
Solana scrapped a visit to Israel after Israeli Prime Minister Ariel
Sharon's office declared he would not be able to meet with the E.U.
official because of Solana's plans to meet Palestinian President
Yasser Arafat, reported the Israeli Haaretz daily.
Meanwhile,
Sharon's chief of staff Dov Weisglass went to Washington Tuesday, May
13, to prepare the groundwork for the prime minister's meeting next
week with U.S. President George W. Bush.
Before
Sharon departs, he will meet with new Palestinian premier Mahmoud
Abbas, aka Abu Mazen, most likely on Saturday night.
Israel
Radio reported Wednesday that Abu Mazen would likely be accompanied by
Palestinian parliament Speaker Ahmed Korei, Abu Ala, and his Security
Minister Mohammed Dahlan.
