MOSCOW,
April 17 (IslamOnline.net) - Only three days after he was sacked as
Mufti of Russia for urging Muslims to declare Jihad
against the American occupation forces in Iraq, Tala't Tagudin called
for establishing a world Shura (consultative) council to stand against
Washington’s colonial policies.
In
a statement circulated Wednesday, April 16, Tagudin exhorted the
different Islamic, Christian, Jewish authorities in Russia and worldwide
to form such an international council to moot the current situation on
the world arena and to grind to cessation the policies of “cowboy”
U.S. President George Bush.
He
invited all world religious trends to huddle together in the first week
of May in Moscow, the Vatican, Macca Al-Mokkarama or occupied Al-Quds
(Jerusalem).
Tagudin
called on the different Islamic, Christian, Jewish authorities to
vocalize opposition to Bush’s policies.
He
also prayed for Allah Almighty to stop wars and military operations
which claim the lives of millions of peoples and exhorted all faithfuls
to pray for peace in Iraq.
The
Russian Islamic Fatwa Council has declared late Monday, April 14, as invalid
the fatwa issued by Tagudin on Jihad against the U.S.
The
Council has refused to keep Tagudin in charge of any Islamic
organization in Russia.
The
legal committee affiliated to the Russia’s Mufti Council claimed the
“emotional” declaration of Jihad by a high ranking religious
official like Tagudin was a major sin that could have brought about
disasters and indulged Russia in a third world war.
Eying
a share in the Iraq bonanza, Iraq Russia, which had firmly opposed any
U.S.-led war on Iraq, has started watering down its position after the
apparent fall of the Iraqi regimes.
