Case Of Suspected SARS Detected In Israel

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, April 14 (IslamOnline.net & News Agencies) - A suspected case of the lethal Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) has been detected in Israel in a woman who was hospitalised after returning recently from China, medical officials said Monday, April 14.

The Israeli woman in her 20s was hospitalised in isolation in a Tel Aviv hospital suffering from fever and breathing difficulties, Agence France-Presse (AFP).

Two other cases were identified in Israel in residents returning from Asia and suspected of having the flu-like disease for which there is as yet no vaccine or cure. Both were later diagnosed as normal influenza.

Israel has brought home the families of diplomats in Hong Kong for fear of contamination by the mystery virus, which has claimed more than 130 lives worldwide and is believed to have infected at least 3,200 people.
