Occupied Territories, emphasizing the worsening conditions of the
Palestinian civilians, and condemning violence on both sides of the
conflict. He expressed his opinion that the Palestinian attacks on the
Israelis have had a negative effect on the Palestinian Cause.
He
also expressed strong concern about the damaging effects of the recent
Israeli attacks on the Palestinians, re-occupying many Palestinian
towns, and causing a lot of suffering for the civilians. The speech

conflict, according to the UN resolutions as well as the concept of
“Land for Peace.”

toward the peaceful solution of the conflict, the respect of the rights
of others, and the continuity of Mexico’s concern over the current
situation in the Middle East region.

Mishni. He gave a brief history of the conflict, including the
involvement of the UN and its many resolutions that went unheeded by
Israel. The ambassador then described the suffering of the Palestinian
people for decades under the Israeli occupation, and the various
attempts to solve the problem in a just and peaceful manner.
He

with the outrageous visit of Sharon to the Aqsa complex, which caused
the eruption of the Intifada. The Palestinian ambassador terminated his

was followed by a brief question-and-answer session. Raquel Rodriguez
inquired whether there is a plan by the UN to firmly implement all the
UN resolutions ignored by Israel. The UN representative explained his
opinion that the UN is doing its best, and that it is the responsibility

these resolutions.
