DHAKA,
November 30 (IslamOnline) - With Eid-ul-Fitr approaching, thousands of
devout Muslims in Bangladesh crammed the mosques including the National
mosque Baitul Mukarram to offer the Juma (Friday) prayers in the holy
month of Ramadan.
If
the moon is sighted next Thursday, December 5, it would be the last Juma
prayers. If the moon is not sighted, the Eid day would be celebrated
Saturday, December 7, and fasting would continue for one more day,
according to religious provision of completing 30 days of fasting. In
that case the next Friday would be the last Friday or Jumatul Wida.
As
the mosque premises were packed up in its full capacity, the people
occupied the street and open spaces adjacent to the mosque to offer
their prayers.
The
next Friday is likely to be the Eid, but it will depend on the sighting
of the Shawal moon.
However,
Muslims across the country, including the city observed the last Juma a
view to avert loosing it, deemed one of the sacred days in a year.

world to protect independence of the Palestinians.

Committee Bangladesh organised the seminar and it was chaired by its
