DOHA,
October 14 (IslamOnline & News Agencies) - Leader of al-Qaeda
network, Osama bin Laden, congratulated the "Muslim nation" on
what he termed "heroic and Jihadi operations" against the
French oil supertanker in Yemen and the U.S. forces in Kuwait.
In
a statement signed by the most wanted man, of which Qatar-based Al-Jazeera
Satellite Station obtained a copy, Bin Laden said that the political
bureau of al-Qaeda would issue "two separate statements, explaining
the implications and effects of the two operations".
Bin
Laden was referring to the October 6 blast that crippled a French
supertanker off the coast of Yemen and the attack, Tuesday, October 8,
on the Kuwaiti island of Failaka by two Kuwaitis that left one U.S.
marine dead and another injured.
The
Saudi dissident, accused by the U.S. of allegedly planning the 9/11
attacks on New York and Washington, called on the scholars, youth,
businessmen and women of the Muslim nation to put aside their
differences, unite their ranks and set free the potentials of this great
nation".
Bin
Laden's statement explained that "fighting the Americans and
Zionist Jews must be on top of the priorities".
It
was not possible to check the authenticity of the long message, dated
October 12 and addressed to "the Nation" on the occasion of
the first anniversary of the U.S. offensive in Afghanistan.
"The
mujahedin (Islamic fighters) have struck by blowing up the tanker in
Yemen, the umbilical cord, supply channel and vital artery of the
crusader world, reminding the enemies they will spill a large amount of
blood and suffer great damages for continuing their aggression against
our nation and pillaging our riches.
"The
heroic operation in Kuwait has also shown the level of danger
threatening U.S. forces throughout the Islamic world," the message
said.
"The
strike against an important military target, the U.S. Marines in Kuwait,
and the blast of a big economic target like the supertanker in Yemen
send a clear and strong message to all enemies and also to all friends
that the mujahideen have not weakened ... after all that has happened.
"We
continue on the same path. We renew our promise to God and the nation
and reiterate our threat to the Americans and Jews that they will not
have peace and will not enjoy security until they stop their aggression
against us," it said.
"One
year after the crusaders' campaign against Afghanistan, America prepares
a new round of its crusade against the Muslim world, this time against
the Iraqi Muslim people to achieve its plan of breaking up the (Arab)
nation, pillaging its riches and establishing Greater Israel after the
expulsion of the Palestinians.
"The
American campaign in Afghanistan failed to realize its main goals: it
failed to kill or arrest any of the leaders of the Taliban and al-Qaeda,
just as it failed to install peace and security in Afghanistan,"
the message said.
"The
U.S. invasion forces are now starting to get bogged down in the Afghan
quagmire. The fate of the U.S. occupation of Afghanistan will not be any
better than that of the Soviet occupation," it warned.
The
message also accused the "U.S. administration of seeking to hide
its failure in Afghanistan by beating the war drums against Iraq.".
