LONDON,
September 28 (IslamOnline) - Muslim Association of Britain in
cooperation with "Stop the war coalition organized (Millions
march) where almost 500-650 thousand gathered in central London (near
Embankment underground station) to demonstrate in a show of protest
against the war against Iraq.
The
demonstrators moved at 12 pm from Embankment station towards Hyde Park
corner passing through Central London streets which were closed in
front of transport for this purpose.
The
demonstration included Muslims, Arabs and non-Arabs as well as British
and English people, who travelled to London from all over the UK
(Scotland-Wales). Some attended from other European countries
Different
Associations and parties took part in the march, such as the Liberal
Democrat, the Socialist Party, the Iraqi communist party, Green group,
Social worker group , Jihad party and Hizbullah including hundred of
Muslim Associations from all over the UK and non-governmental
associations.
Crowds
were shouting against George Bush and Blair as well as Sharon and
Saddam Hussein, holding signboards with phrases such as "stop the
war against Iraq", "Stop the killing", "George
Bush, we know you, your father was a killer too", and kids wore
T-shirts with the Iraqi flag and the Palestinians flags as well and
"no war" signs.
After
walking for 4 kilometres, the crowd stayed at Hyde Park from 3 till 6
pm listening to the speeches given by London Mayor Ken Livingstone,
George Galway MP (Labour Party) and Mouhamed Sarwar MP, Michlle
AbdulMaseeh QUC (Queens Councillor) whom they all are against the war
and against George Bush.
