Dr. Riad El-Zanoun, Palestinian Minister of Health, announced Saturday, June 22, 2002, to reporters that 505 innocent children died since the Israeli major operations in the West Bank two months ago, representing 19% of the total death toll among Palestinian civilians which reached 1,365 deaths.

Israel has called up 2,000 army reservists as troops to take control of five major Palestinian towns in the West Bank.

In the latest incursion, about 60 Israeli armored vehicles pushed into Qalqilya on Sunday. Troops have also moved back into Bethlehem, Jenin, Nablus and Tulkarm.

A senior Israeli defense official, Amos Yaron, warned of a "crushing offensive" in an attempt to halt Palestinian attacks.
