GAZA,
June 9 (IslamOnline & News Agencies) - The Islamic Jihad movement
claimed responsibility for the Saturday, June 8 sea operation in which
two Palestinians tried to infiltrate the North Gaza Dugit illegal
Jewish settlement.
The
two were killed by Israeli forces and their bodies shored off the Beit
Lahia beach near the settlement.
Palestinian
sources said the body of Ahed Limbasher, 21, had been handed over by
Israel to the Palestinian Authority, though an Israeli spokesman
denied the report.
The
sources added that Limbasher was killed by two bullets in the neck and
head and was left to bleed to death. His body was kept by the Israeli
forces before being released the following morning.
A
medical source in Gaza said that the Shifa Hospital has received the
body of Sayed el-Tatar, 30, from the Shajaya area in east Gaza.
A
source in the Islamic Jihad movement said that Limbasher and el-Tatar
from the Saraya Al-Quds, the military wing of Jihad, were on their way
to carry out an operation that they called ‘sea operation’ in the
Dugit settlement.
A
spokesman for the Israeli army said that soldiers from the Israeli
marine spotted the two who were trying to swim near the illegal
settlement and fired at them. They claimed that the body of el-Tatar,
and a bag containing two Kalashnikov rifles, ammunition and four hand
grenades, was recovered
