| Palestinian woman and her daughters right, look at what used to be their house in a building complex destroyed by Israeli occupation forces |
NABLUS,
April 15 (IslamOnline & News Agencies) – Since the start of the
Israeli reoccupation of Nablus, Palestinian women living in the
Hashashin alley south east Balata refugee camp are suffering the
continuous aggression on their land, people and families.
Israeli
occupation tanks situated in front of their homes fire on anything that
moves, killing, injuring and making homeless even children. The rich,
green land was the first thing damaged in that Palestinian city.
In
the first night of occupation, the women of Nablus witnessed the killing
of a young Palestinian man shot by Israeli occupation tanks.
The
Israeli tanks refused to let anyone to reach the dead man, and let
police dogs loose on his body. At the same time, the Palestinian women
decided to reach the rest of the torn body to identify it. It was very
difficult to recognize who he was.
One
of the women tried to fetch the rest of his torn clothes for any
identification, and found a picture of the dead young man. The woman
recognized him as the friend of her son whom she had seen in an Israeli
prison on a visit to her abducted son.
The
woman said that the young man was abducted by Israeli forces and had
been jailed for 9 years when he was 16-years-old. He was later on
sentenced for an additional three years.
The
martyr was Khaled Habash, who was in his mid-twenties. His body was so
torn apart that it was difficult to carry and bury, which is why the
women decided to dig a grave to bury Habash in the spot where he was
killed.
They
couldn’t find anything with which to bury him except for their bare
hands.
This
is the first time women in a refugee camp dig graves and it is the first
time for women to bury men.
