OCCUPIED
TERRITORIES, April 8 (IslamOnline) – In its aggressive military
campaign against the Palestinian people, Israel ruthlessly massacred
another six year old Palestinian girl in the arms of her mother in
Rafah.
Somaya
Najeh Hassan, was shot dead in cold blood Saturday April 6, 2002 by
the Israeli soldiers whose guns and weapons don’t differentiate
between men, women, children or the elderly.
Medical
sources from the Abu Yusuf Al-Naggar Martyr Hospital told IslamOnline
that Somaya became a child-martyr when Israeli occupation soldiers
shot randomly and extensively from the military zone of Zareb at the
houses and unarmed citizens in the main street of Tel-El-Sultan alley
in Rafah.
Somaya
was in her grandfather’s car with her mother when a 0.8 mm bullet
hit her from below her chin and came out the other side of her head.
Her mother was seriously injured in her nose and her grandfather,
Samih Rasheed Al-Kaik, 50, was also injured in the shoulder.
Somaya
was born on August 16, 1996 in the Brazilian alley in the Palestinian
city of Rafah to a religious Muslim family. She has two sisters, Wala,
8, and Samah, 5. Her parents were about to register her in school
before she was brutally murdered.
Her
uncle, Adnan Abd El-Hady Hassan, 41, told IslamOnline that Somaya’s
father who is being treated for leukemia in Egypt, still doesn’t
know about his daughter. “We don’t want to tell him because we are
afraid that this tragic news could threaten his own life,” Adnan
said.
Medical
sources told IslamOnline that this is not the first time that the
bullets of the occupation soldiers target children. They mercilessly
shoot them everywhere, in their houses, in the playgrounds and even in
the arms of their mothers.
Salwa
Hamad Dahleez, 11, was also shot dead by Israeli soldiers on the same
day as Somaya. Nine other children were seriously wounded as well when
they were attacked by occupation soldiers on their way back home from
school.
At
least four Palestinian girls were ruthlessly killed by occupation
soldiers throughout the month of March 2002 alone. They are Shaima
Saeed Hamad, 11, Reham Hossam Abu Taha, 5, Mona Samy Al-Bahabsa, 15,
and Salwa Hamad Dahleez, 11.
“Occupation
forces deliberately kill our innocent children because Israelis
realize that they are the Palestinian dream and the generation of
freedom,” Somaya’s uncle said.
