Religious Ruling Against Pervez Musharaff

KARACHI, Oct 8 (IslamOnline) - A prominent Pakistani religious scholar issued a fatwa (religious ruling) Monday urging Muslims to "use whatever means" necessary to topple all the rulers - including General Pervez Musharraf - of Muslim countries who were cooperating with the United States in its attack on Afghanistan.
The United States on Sunday launched air and missile attacks on Afghanistan, seen by Muslims worldwide as a new "crusade" against Islam and the Islamic world, said Mufti (scholar) Nizamuddin Shamzai, a staunch supporter of Afghanistan's ruling Taliban, particularly after U.S. President George W. Bush's provocative comments to that effect.
According to Shamzai, it is now the religious obligation of all Muslims to use whatever means they have to topple the rulers of Muslim countries who are cooperating with, and supporting the United States in its war on Afghanistan.
"The rulers of these Islamic countries have lost the right to govern since they cooperate with the enemies of Islam - the U.S. and Jews - in their attack on Afghanistan," said Shamzai, who is one of the key administrators of Jame'a Uloom-ul-Islameya Binori Town (Islamic University) in Karachi, known as a "Factory of Taliban".
"After the attack on Afghanistan, jihad [struggle] has become obligation of every Muslim, as the main target of USA and the Jews is to remove the current Islamic government of Afghanistan," he said, adding, "The people of [the] Islamic Emirates of Afghanistan could not defend Dar-ul-Islam [Land of Islam] alone; therefore, it is the religious obligation of all the Muslims to support them."
"A Muslim belong[ing] to any country, government or non-governmental organization will not be considered Muslim if he is used or works against the Islamic government of Afghanistan," Shamzai contended.
He said the Muslim population of an Islamic country, or a Muslim employee of any organization, including the armed forces, was not obligated to bow to the directives of their respective bosses against the current government of Afghanistan.
"It would be compulsory for all the Muslims to defy such orders or directives against the interest of Afghanistan's Taliban government," he maintained.
"Now all the Muslims are bound - in accordance with the Shari'ah [Islamic law] - to cooperate with the Afghan government with their lives and property. Whoever could go and fight along with Taliban against U.S. forces, must go and whoever could support them financially, he must do," he added.
