Jerusalem's Grand Mufti Denounces Clinton

RAMALLAH (IslamOnline & Al Quds Press) - The Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Sheikh Ekrema Sabri, criticized outgoing U.S. President Bill Clinton's administration.

"The American president has left the Black House after he dreamt of winning Nobel 's prize for peace," said Sabri at Friday prayers at al-Aqsa mosque.

Sabri said that he would nominate Clinton for another prize, the prize of indecent and filthy behavior.

In addition to the scathing indictment against Clinton, Sabri commented on events in the Occupied Territories.

"The Israeli occupation has to end sooner or later," he affirmed, urging all those who are collaborating with Israeli authorities to repent and regret their sins.

Sabri denounced U.S.-subsidized organizations suggesting they do not measure up to the human rights criteria by which they label themselves.

"We, Muslims, are the ones who respect human rights, not the U.N. Charter of Human Rights," he affirmed.

Sabri criticized those who opposed executions of Palestinians collaborating with Israel and participated in bombings inside the occupied territories.

"Those who have denounced the execution of collaborators…where have you been when the ruthless U.S. and Britain were bombing Kosovo and Bosnia with uranium missiles?" Sabri concluded.
