| Hebron lies in the southwest of the West Bank, just 30 km south of Al-Quds (Jerusalem). It has a population of around 166,000 Palestinians (Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics) and 500 Israeli settlers (Jewish Virtual Library). It is best known for the mosque that lies in the center of its old city, the Ibrahimi Mosque. As is the case upon entering any city in the West Bank, I had to first pass through an Israeli checkpoint on its outskirts. | 1/14 | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
