US Space Shuttle Endeavor began in November a 16-day repair and upgrade mission to the International Space Station (ISS). The shuttle carried more than 6,500 kgm of equipment and supplies and its astronauts carried out four space walks to increase the ISS capacity to accommodate six astronauts starting from May 2009.
