In Your Words

I have a story my friend
A message I would like to send
With a painful beginning but a happy end

1500 years ago people lived in a world so dark
No knowledge, no religion, nothing to spark

A gloomy world so gray
People did nothing but eat, drink and play
And to plenty false gods pray
If a baby was a girl, she was quickly buried away
Alive, with no guilt, how cruel were they
They had to have someone to enlighten their way
Someone so different, someone who could say
Leave the dark and invite them to day

A modest prophet carrying a message of peace
From Allah the One to release

All mankind, entire humanity
Who were away behind, from complete vanity

A message of love
That would take them above
The simple message is Allah the One

He, has no wife, he has no son
Everyone, has companions, He has none
All, this universe is by Him alone run
What He wants to happen, by a word is done
And when He wants to end it, everything is gone

My merciful prophet recited what he heard
From the Holy Spirit word by word
Sent by Allah the one, no second, no third

While the message was so simple to convey
Many stood in my kind-hearted prophet's way
They preferred darkness and on it they chose to stay

The light they fought, not only refused
They, were not mixed up, they were not confused

The truth they have definitely known
But they stayed on the darkness upon which they've grown

But my beloved prophet insisted
And all their trials resisted

He had to spread the religion raising Allah's name
My dear prophet had no other aim
Not money, not marriage, not even fame

For us he had to go through lots of pain
Whenever he was refused, he tried again and again

My prophet's message is simple and brief
Islam is simply the religion of relief
Worshipping one God is its main belief
It is not a religion of sorrow and grief
In Islam there is no slave, there is no chief

Islam is for everyone you know
For those high up, and those down low

Islam is a religion of love and respect
It's much more merciful than you expect

Islam came to enlighten
Not to threat and frighten

It is the religion of Oneness not of division
Then you are free to make your own decision

My patient Prophet who could not write or read
By love and mercy managed to lead
By loyalty and democracy indeed

Now you know him for sure
Islam is a religion so pure

The religion to which I belong
I know I kept you so long

But this is my religion and that's my prophet
That was my message, I hope you've got it

The current Muslim outcry against the dirty cartoons caricaturizing our Prophet as a leader of libidinous terrorists is twofold in that it’s a result of both sides’ ignorance. Muslims have their right to express their freedom of speech by condemning the Danish cartoonists but their ignorance of their Prophet and His Teachings of peace, tolerance, constructiveness, positiveness and respect for public property and holy shrines appears in their violent replies every here and there.

Danish ignorance occurs in not knowing what the Prophet did and say. They think that the image of Muslims nowadays is a manifestation of true Islam, which isn’t necessarily correct. They need to know that Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) is a Messenger of peace, mercy, love and guidance to mankind.

Danish double-dealing is very apparent in clinging to a fake “freedom of expression” since they refused to publicize similar cartoons on Jesus Christ (peace and blessings be upon him and his mother) three years ago and they can by no means tarnish the holocaust or Jewish mischief the world all over.
Muslims should pay more attention to their Islam which receives direct and oblique attacks day in day out. The Spanish king apologized to the Jews for what happened to them after the fall of Islamic Spain but refused to apologize to Muslims who fell subject to genocide and cultural vandalism 5000 years ago. Silvio Berlisconi of Italy very often insults Islam and Muslims as belonging to a retarding civilization and G.W. Bush has already launched his long term Crusade.

We need to go back to the Holy Qur'an to seek guidance from. Allah says "The Examined One": Should they gain the upper hand over you, they would behave to you as your enemies, and will stretch forth their hands and their tongues against you with evil, and they desire that you should disbelieve. (Al-Mumtahanah 60:2)

Allah here warns us all that if our enemies manage to get us under their power they would certainly reveal their hidden hatred and stretch their evil muscles both in terms of hand (physical, economic, social and military power) and tongue (media garnishment). It’s exactly the case today.

We can reply all blasphemous attacks against Islam by doing two things. First by following the right path of Allah, knowing the seerah of his messenger, studying it, giving it a vivid part in our daily lives, praying regularly, being helpful to one another, loving Allah the Almighty, Mohammed (pbuh) and our brethren Muslims as well as being positive, productive and optimistic citizens in our societies. Second by trying hard to shake off the dust of weakness which hides the beauty of our religion. Islam asks us to be strong in all walks of life by continuously seeking knowledge, giving much importance to learning, being strategic in our thinking, planning our acts and decisions and above all being a guiding example for the others in moral, social, economic, political, physical, mental, army and cultural power, so that no impish coward would ponder for long before thinking of harming Islam or Muslims.

All Muslims of this world regardless of race, sect have condemned the deliberate provocative cartoons published by Danish newspapers and other reprints in Europe and American newspapers.

This is an indication that we are united in the hadith of the Prophet of Islam that says whatever affects your fellow Muslim has affected you also.

Freedom of speech is not an European invention, as patented by them. It is well accepted fact since ages. All revealed religious books, including Qur'an have repeatedly tried to establish this fact.

As we all know the non-Muslims are using this tactic to make us upset to make more and new rules for us. The look for ways to dominate us without any recourse. We do need to look at our best model Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) he was ever so kind and peaceful and always so FORGIVING of all people not just his brothers/sisters in Islam.

There is a fine line between freedom of expression and hate literature. These tasteless and appalling images were meant to taunt and offend us. The intended effect was to create a rift between Islam and the West. There is no excuse and no need to publish these caricatures of our beloved Prophet Mohamed (pbuh), and the surge of hatred and violence could have all been avoided.

We hear the west being a civilized and tolerant society but when it comes to Islam it is uncivilized intolerant and ignorant. The ideology employed by the west does not have the intellectual ability to challenge of defeat the perfected ideology of Islam for all mankind.

Justice will prevail on whoever was part of the evil act. No matter what the non-Muslims do, they'll never bring down Islam because Islam is the only true religion of Allah and its protected by Allah. They don't know the value of our beloved Prophet (pbuh) and l pity them because they keep provoking Muslims and then call us terrorists yet they are the biggest terrorists in this world.

No no not my prophet
No no you must stop it

The freedom on which they call
Is only for them not for us all
The freedom that they claim
Is to make fun of our blessed prophet's name
In terrible drawings full of shame
The prophet of Mercy who came
To say God is one and we are all the same
My beloved prophet of whom I'm proud
We will all say it out aloud

No no not my prophet
No no you must stop it

Is freedom to express?
Dishonor to our prophet in the press
and show disrespect to the prophet of our religion
In media and television
Please do respect our vision

No no not my prophet
No no you must stop it

The freedom they think they've achieved
Is to despise Mohamed and his creed
Mohamed who for real freedom fought
and everyone taught
The freedom in worshipping Allah the one
The freedom of respecting everyone
My merciful prophet is now humiliated
We will all clearly state it

No no not my prophet
No no you must stop it

If your freedom is to criticize
Then its ours to demand you to apologize

While Muslims once again fall into the reactionary trap set for them and confirm the thesis of the offending cartoons by exploding in rage  and violence, we would do well to reflect upon the Prophet's supplication in Taif. This is the dua he recited with shoes full of  blood, wounds all over his body and after having been insulted and  abused by the people of Taif. What's more this all occurs after three  years of suffering a boycott at the hands of the Quraysh as a result of which Muslims were reduced to eating grass and leaves of trees. The Prophet (s) as he walks out of Taif: "O Allah! I complain to You of my weakness, my scarcity of resources and my humiliation before the people. O Most Merciful of those who  are merciful. O Lord of the weak and my Lord too. To whom have You entrusted me? To a distant person who receives me with hostility? Or  to an enemy to whom You have granted authority over my affair? So  long as You are not angry with me, I do not care. Your favour is of  more abundance to me. I seek refuge in the light of Your Face by which all darkness is dispelled and every affair of this world and   the next is set right, lest Your anger or Your displeasure descend upon me. I desire Your pleasure and satisfaction until You are pleased. There is no power and no might except by You." Are we to revert to pre-Islamic tribal norms of vengeance and retribution rather than see this as an opportunity to turn hearts by   sharing the example of our beloved Prophet's centredness and compassion in the face of hate and enmity with those whose hearts are  open? Are we to fall into the major sin of dispair-fuelled violence rather than maintain hope as the Prophet (s) did when the angel of the   mountains met him outside Ta'if following his supplication and offered to cause the mountains surrounding Taif to explode over the  town and obliterate it to which the Prophet (s) replied 'No, I hope  that these people will one day come to worship only Allah and Him alone'? Violence will not accomplish anything. After all it was violence that started this so-called 'War of Civilizations.'

Personally I believe we Muslims can only blame ourselves for the state we are in today. As for the cartoons, it is we that have given the West the opportunity to slander and mock our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and our religion. We all carry this burden, be it the minority that kill innocent people, or the majority that have not conveyed the true image of Islam to the world.

From what I have experienced watching the news, I am utterly disgusted by the way these Muslim protesters are acting and carrying out their protest! It is uncivil, it is lawless, it is NOT the way Islam teaches us to act.

If anything, we should feel sorry for those who spend their time making such cartoons, and those who have nothing better to laugh about. Clearly, they are steeped in ignorance and darkness. I feel very sorry for the kind of lives I know they lead. I know, because I used to be one of them. If Allah was patient and tolerant enough to wait for ME to come around, I guess I can be no less patient and tolerant of them. Poor, lost fools...What makes me a bit sadder however, are those Muslims who use this simple act of sheer stupidity as an excuse for violence and even greater fitnah. They, at least, should know better...it will give many an excuse to say "See, Islam DOES represent violence, after all. Seems like those cartoons were RIGHT." Such behavior makes Islam look even worse than insulting cartoons.

I must confess that it seems to me to be a slow news week when all we Muslims have to talk about is this silly cartoon. How great is would be if we could have one percent of the wisdom, patience, and insight our Prophet (saw) did. I suspect he wouldn't have given this more than a second's thought.

This way of opening a debate on emotional grounds is, in fact, a way of closing the door on rational discourse.

When it comes to discussion of the Holocaust, media monitors like Menards accept without question the government-imposed censorship laws and imprisonment of historical revisionists. At least 4 well known historians are currently in prison in Germany and Austria for writing and speaking about the Holocaust. There is clearly a more sinister reason why the Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen refuses to issue a formal apology as demanded by Arab and Muslim governments. The hard-line position taken by Rasmussen, an ally in the "war on terror," has more to do with advancing the "clash of civilizations" than defending free speech in Europe.

The Danish paper set out to offend and provoke outrage in the Muslim community

Given the unapologetic position taken by the Danish government and the editors it appears very likely that tension with Islamic nations will increase and the international crisis will deepen. This is, after all, exactly what the global planners behind the "clash of civilizations" want. The anti-Islamic cartoon scandal is no laughing matter. If and when a terror attack does occur and the cartoons and angry Muslims are blamed for being the cause, the reason they were published will become clear. Europeans will become increasingly polarized and hostility to Islam will grow.

"If the issue is really one of free speech, would you publish cartoons making fun of the Jewish Holocaust?"

Freedom of expression is one of the cornerstones of our democratic systems and we shall never relinquish it. But there are no rights without responsibility and respect for different sensibilities.

"We shall all be the losers if we fail to immediately defuse this situation, which can only leave a trail of mistrust and misunderstanding between both sides in its wake.
