I have been in Lebanon since the third of July.
July 12 was the day of "The True Promise." That is how
Hizbullah called this war. When war was waged on Lebanon, I was in
Sour [Tyre] on a visit to my sister who lived there. With the start of
the Israeli bombardment, I fled to Saida where my aunt lived.
On our way to Saida, we faced such a
hard journey that was so long. Al-Qasium bridge was completely
destroyed, as the Israeli troops wanted to break up our country. The
driver of the van we took was so optimistic, he was all the time
turning his cassette-radio on to our national songs and also to the
announcements of Mr. Hassan Nasrallah, Hizbullah's leader. At these
moments I was very happy hearing these beautiful songs. But along with
these songs there were another sounds: They were the sounds of bombs.
Airplanes were flying above our heads, and all the time we felt that
they would target us sooner or later. Really, I won't forget these
moments forever. Thanks to Allah for the victory He granted to our
brave resistance.
