Sheikh Ahmad Kutty |
I
condemn the attacks in England and extend my
heartfelt condolences to those affected.
Let
me also state both categorically and emphatically
that there is no justification whatsoever in Islam
for such acts of terrorism targeting the
innocents.
Any
act of terrorism, regardless of who the
perpetrators are, and against whom they are
targeted, is clearly contrary to the teachings of
Islam. Islam teaches us that to kill a single
human being is akin to killing all of humanity. It
is therefore our religious duty to distance
ourselves from extremism of all shades and colors,
and uphold the sanctity of life and rights of all
human beings.
As
Muslims, it is also at once our religious and
civil duty to help law enforcement agencies in
bringing the perpetrators to justice.
