Palestinians
who succeeded in remaining inside the land occupied in 1948, which
became the new Jewish state of Israel, have never been on the peace
process agenda. The international community has classed Palestinians
with Israeli passports as an Israeli “domestic” issue, thus
discrimination must be dealt with in the same way as discrimination
against say British citizens of Pakistani origin or Germans of Turkish
origin, not as part of the so-called Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
However,
there will never be genuine justice or peace in the Middle East without
justice for the Palestinians wherever they live. Some form of settlement
could be forced, but tension and ultimately oppression will not be
overcome until the racism and injustice perpetuated against Palestinians
inside Israel is recognized as an inherent part of the conflict
