It
is apparent that the Islamic World and particularly the Arabic
one suffers from a lack of balance and truthful reporting by its
own. As occurred in 1967, the lies of the Arab journalists drown
out the truth that they strive to deliver.
Arabs,
contrary to the teachings of the Quran, have shamelessly hidden
behind the skirts of woman and children to be slaughtered in the
thousands in the streets of
Baghdad
.
They are not martyrs, but cowards that have spoiled the valiant
legacy of centuries of honorable Muslim soldiers. Is Islam so
morally bankrupt, that it squanders its blood on meaningless
pieces of camel dung such as Saddam? Where is the honor and
glory of Islam?
Reply:
We concede that much of the media in the Arab world, being
state-controlled, suffers from a lack of balance. However, we
wonder if you'll concede that American media is also
rapidly degenerating in its coverage of perspectives opposing
the official
US
line. Furthermore, American media coverage was disturbingly
sloppy during the war in
Iraq
; and the censoring out of images of civilian deaths is
nothing less than criminal in light of the nature of the war.
Muslims
do not support Saddam. However, the realization that the
impending
US
invasion would cause terrible death and ruin, as well as being
followed by a
US
occupation, the installation of a proxy government and the
pillaging of Iraqi oil wealth forced many Muslims to decide
that there was no alternative to fighting off the Americans,
though that was misconstrued as a defense of Saddam.
Muslims
have opposed their dictators long before the whimsical affection
of the
US
began to show sympathy for suffering Arabs. As such, we
cannot believe the invasion was a sincere attempt to “liberate”
Iraq
.
