No War: A World Wide Campaign

Heart of Peace

A Letter From a Citizen of the World

Dear Friends,

06/04/2003

I write tonight from the US. The profound sadness that reaches the very depths of my soul makes me feel so very old, so very ancient and tired. My life has taught me that all things of this world happen by the out-breath of God. The very air that I breathe and the food that I eat, the clothes on my back, all come from the God, the Spirit; and this I have learned, though painfully at times, is in Divine order. This is perhaps a test for me to continue to follow that belief.

I am at odds with some in my family because theirs is the “my country, right or wrong” mentality and I must honor their choices even though what my father taught us before he left this world was quite different. My heart says that my country's leaders are so arrogant in the face of God and that they are attempting to seduce the soul of our nation onto following them into the darkness. There are many here, and around this world, who carry the Light of life deep within them. Ever since I was a child, I have seen “Light” - I know of no other way to describe it.

I have been told that I am unrealistic and childish in my views. I thank God that I am childish enough to believe that Love, Compassion and respect for all will win out over this madness. All those who are participating in the war are experiencing a case of temporary insanity; and many of us are praying for the return of their senses.

My prayers are that my brothers and sisters throughout the world will know in their hearts that not all those living in the US believe in sacrificing lives for the sake of whatever the current agenda may be. So many in the world are old enough to be war-weary. In my near 53 years of life, I can always remember hearing of war, or the “impending” war. What about the children? I feel that no world leader involved in this insanity truly cares about the children, not even their own. Their hearts are now of stone. They do not hear the cries of children in their souls.

There are many arrested in this country because they spoke out and demonstrated against this war. I honor all those who speak their truth anywhere in this world. Love, Compassion, Reason and Spiritual Maturity will be the true victors.

To the people of Iraq, thousands of us around the world hold you in our prayers and surround you with the Light that brings great peace. May God bless you and lead you to a place of peace in your hearts. There are many who surround you with their love.

Love,

Light,

Breath and Sight,

A Citizen of the World
