Within the past 3 years, everything that we took to be representative of the status quo has been called into question – from the very water, we drink, the food we eat, and the clothes we wear.
The global economic crisis represents the bedrock of the materialistic world we came from, where the very rich get richer and fewer, the middle class are dying in one form or another, and the poor are becoming the majority. It is only when we are in sujud (prostration) in prayer that we realize that we are all the same. Maybe the economic crisis is the means to make us realize that this world is one world, where excess for one, is deprivation for another. So let us take this big chance that Allah (SWT) has given to us, to get our lives into perspective.
