Within the context of the Muslim Family Campaign which was initiated by the Federation this year, the President of the Federation sent a letter to all centers, and member organizations across Europe, inviting them to attend the training program to develop their ability in handling critical family issues, under the supervision of Sheikh Salem Al Shaikhy.
Following is the text of the letter and how to participate:
Dear Brothers / Heads of Member Organizations,
We pray to God Almighty for your well-being and that He accepts our good deeds and blesses your endeavors, and wish you many happy returns of the
year.
“It is not for the Believers to go forth together, if a contingent from every expedition go forth to devote themselves to studies in religion, and admonish the people when they return to them, that thus they may learn to guard themselves against evil” Al Tauba 122
As you know Muslim youth in Europe are enthusiastic to get married, but unfortunately some of them have been negatively influenced by some non-Islamic traditions and practices that are common in the multi-cultural European societies in which they live. Over and above the fact that it is logical to conclude that committing to the teachings of Islam in building a Muslim home is the most important success factor for having a happy family that nurtures future generations. We have unfortunately found through experiences in various European countries, that youth approach marriage family life without any prior knowledge of the family paradigm in light of Islam, which puts them in danger of divorce during the first year of marriage. Consequently the Federation of Islamic Organizations in Europe has decided to create a group of counselors in all European countries, depending on the numbers of the Muslim community in each country, whose role will be to guide and coach youth who are getting married and raise their level of awareness in order to enable them to carry out the responsibility that awaits them.
Briefly, the program focuses on developing counselors who can tackle family issues, presented by Sheikh Salem Al Shaikhy, a member of the European Assembly for Fatwa and Research, with the aim of training the participants so they can transfer their expertise to their various regions and organizations, to give warning and raise awareness, and help the Muslim family in European societies carry out its mission, for the general benefit of the Muslims in Europe and European societies as a whole.
Introducing the Program
This program is part of a series of programs in which Sheikh Salem has exerted great practical and scientific effort through his wide experience in the judicial field. It centers on central issues which are vital to marital life, such as the rights of both spouses individually and the combined rights of both. The trainer will also tackle the elements of a happy marriage, and show real life examples with important details in all areas (faith – emotional – psychological – ethical – intellectual and scientific – social). The program ends with an explanation on how to measure marital happiness as well as a workshop.
At the end of the program participants will receive a signed certificate from the Federation of Islamic Organizations in Europe.
Program Participants
Participants should be those interested in the issues of the Muslim family in Europe, and who try to solve problems between spouses, as well as Imams and counselors, on the condition that they commit to this file and attempt to hold workshops for youth preparing for marriage.

The deadline for application is October 10th 2009
These programs entail lengthy preparation from the Federation as well as being costly, consequently applicants are asked to take the matter seriously by being prompt and actively interacting with the program.
This program is only for those who will practice what has been learnt and benefit those around them.
