- Protecting the Family by Following the Example of the Prophet (PBUH)
The Fifth Family Camp in Grenada

In the context of the Muslim Family in Europe Campaign for 2009, a family camp was held in Grenada from the 17th to the 19th of May 2009, under the motto of the “Muslim Family in Spain Following the Example of the Prophet (PBUH)” and was attended by many men of da’wah and learning. Dr. Khedr Abdel Moaty gave a lecture on protecting the family by following the example of the Prophet (PBUH), in which he tackled:
The Qur’an and its role in the family, and how they must abide by its teachings, and encourage their children to learn the Qur’an, both as recital and code of conduct.
Some of the other topics that were tackled during the camp are:

Worshipping as a family together

The mosque and its role in the lives of Muslim families, and actively participating in the activities of the mosque

Finding surrogate relatives to take the place of families who live in other countries, and encouraging strong ties with righteous Muslim brothers, to protect our families and strengthen our unity

The importance of having a weekly family gathering to discuss all important issues pertinent to the well-being of the family unit
-
Marriage amongst Muslims in Europe and choosing a spouse who is (relatively) committed to his / her faith
