The Cultural Social Center in Holland, the Federation of Islamic Organizations in Holland and the Islamic Union in Belgium organized under the sponsorship of the Federation of Islamic Organizations in Europe the seventh European Family Camp, which started on the evening of June 20th 2009 till Friday June 24th 2009.
The camp was well attended and included participants from many European countries; Holland (the host country), France, Belgium, Germany and Italy. The camp was also attended by many guests from European Islamic organizations, including the European Assembly of Imams and Spiritual Guiders, the European Family Campaign, as well as teachers and sheikhs. There were also groups from the Islamic world represented by the Islamic World Union and the International Forum of Muslim Youth and Al Salah Organization and Al Najat Organization from Kuwait, amongst others. The motto of the camp for this year was “The Muslim Family and the Stability of Islam in the West” in compliance with the Muslim Family in Europe Campaign which was initiated by the Federation of Islamic Organizations in Europe at the beginning of the year. The program of the camp included entertaining and productive activities, some were intellectual such as discussions and lectures and workshops, while others were for entertainment such as friendly sports competitions, as well as evenings of songs and cultural competitions. The camp concluded on Friday on a positive note, with all participants expressing their satisfaction with the camp and what they had gained from the experience, and the honesty and sincerity shown by all attendees including the sheikhs and du’ah that were involved, and who showed a high awareness of their true role, and participated in presenting a clear and comprehensive program that included all the necessary criteria for a successful
camp.
