Iman Badawi, Rafah
– Egypt
December 21, 2008
Khalil Alniss has come
for the second time in few months with a van full of
toys and cloths as a gift from the children of London
to the children of Gaza. Khalil’s first trip was in
July when he brought medicine from the Scottish people
and parliament to the people of Gaza. After spending a
whole month at the border in Rafah, the Egyptian
authorities refused to let the medicine into Gaza.
Khalil does not know despair, so he came back. This
time the trip was in winter and in holiday times, he
crossed 12 countries in such bad weather to accomplish
his journey of hope and deliver the toys to the
children of Gaza. Drawing a smile on the faces of the
besieged children of Gaza definitely worth all the
trouble.
These are the photos
of Khalil’s trip starting from London and all the
way to Rafah crossing and it will be in 3 parts. You
can see the van in front of Rafah crossing, a
demonstration in solidarity with Gaza in front of the
Egyptian embassy in London. The toys given from the
children of England, the trip of the van through
France, the fog in Germany and Austria, and scenes
from Bulgaria Romania and Hungary.
