As 1427 has ended and the new Hijri year is
here, IslamOnline.net is preparing a
special celebration for 1428.
As a part of this celebration, IOL
will host many important figures, inviting them to talk about
how they found the last year.
On Thursday, January 18, 2006, at 13:30 GMT, we start with an
open discussion with Ingrid
Mattson, ISNA president.
On Sunday, January 19, at 9:00 GMT, there will be a live talk
with Jo
Wilding, the British activist, on how to be a journalist in a
hot spot.
On Monday, January 22, at 13:00 GMT, there will be a live chat
with Dawud
Wharnsby, the popular singer. After the Live session, you can
talk to Dawud on air in Youth 4 the Future's live radio broadcast that
will be at 15:30 GMT.
On Tuesday, January 23, at 12:00 GMT, there will be a live
dialogue with Tariq
Ramadan, president of the European Muslim Network (EMN). You
are invited to discuss the challenges of the new year and Muslims in
Europe.
After Dr. Tariq Ramadan's session, we have
pleasure to host Dr.
Farouk El-Baz, the Egyptian Research Professor and the
Director of the Center for Remote Sensing at Boston University. This
will be in a live interview at 15:00 GMT between Dr. El-Baz and the
editor of IslamOnline's Health & Science department. Join us in
this interview on Tuesday, January 23, at 15:00 GMT.
On Wednesday, 24, at 18:00 GMT, talk
to Saddam Husain's lawyer.
Not only a serial of live sessions but also
you can read how IOL was at the previous year. This will be on the
feature story, IslamOnline.net
in 1427.
This, of course, is beside the special
coverage of the new Hijri year. The Shari`ah Department prepared the
folder whose theme this year is "Yearning
for Unity".
