Art lens: Viewing the Genuine Suffering of
Iraq
The
Retreating World: When the Suffering Goes Onstage
The
play is written by an American playwright, so this time, the suffering of the
Iraqi people and the magnitude of the war's catastrophe was not described by

Is
the Cradle of Civilization Being Led to its Grave?
"Now
listen here .You see the names of
Places
roundabout:
There're
mine now, I am the death and I've
them
inside out.
I
have killed the star-tipped minaret, the
marble
and halls of Baghdad"
’The
Plunder of Iraqs Heritage
The
bombings and the looting that occurred after the war have caused substantial
harm to unique cultural heritage in the form of damage or loss of irreplaceable
artifacts, ancient structures and archeological sites.
’Attempting
to Recover Iraqs Stolen Heritage
The
information gathered by UNESCO will assist Interpol’s mission to establish a
database of Iraqi artefacts suspected of being stolen. This database, it is
hoped, will assist customs agencies around the world in identifying stolen
artefacts being smuggled across international borders.
BAGHDAD
Before the Bombs Begin to Fall
The
photographs are arranged sensitively, from the most innocent depictions of daily
life to the deeply sublime, increasing in intensity as the exhibition
progresses. As one enters the gallery the first images one encounters is that of
school children.

Children
to Children Diaries: Peace notes
We
visited anti-war websites like iacenter.org
and antiwar.com.
Thought of publishing one of our hand-made books in Bengali, “Haat tolo jara
juddho chaona” meaning “Those against war, raise your hands” with
subtitles in different languages. We started translating the book hoping it to
be published on August 6 this year.

the humanitarian organization War Child Canada, a national affiliate of the
international organization War Child, which focuses on the health and welfare of
children living in war-torn areas of the world.
