Going to the Movies: Is it Worth for Muslims?

27/12/2003

IslamOnline.net hosted a live dialogue about Muslims and watching Movies, trying to discuss the controversial views and stances towards such an important art.

The live dialogue was with Dilshad D. Ali. Ali has covered movie premieres, film festivals, art exhibits, concerts and numerous other cultural stories, including 9/11’s affect on New York’s cultural landscape for Islam Online.

Her stories encompass the growing independent film market (which has much to offer Muslim viewers) as well as mainstream flicks. Ali has interviewed such celebrities like U.S. filmmaker Michael Wolfe and director Bahman Ghobadi.

She also freelances for numerous other magazines and spent two years as an associate editor for an award-winning educational magazine in Washington, D.C. Ali, a 1997 University of Maryland journalism graduate, resides in New York with her husband and two children.
