I would be appreciative if a Muslim on this site would be
good enough to answer the following questions:
1) How do Muslims feel about "Mullah" Omar calling himself
a mullah when he is not, in fact, a mullah? If my
understanding is correct, one must have 12 years of
religious training to qualify as a mullah. Omar has only 8
years.
2) How do Muslims feel about Osama bin Laden calling for
fatwas? If my understanding is correct, only an imam or a
mullah is authorized to call for a fatwa.
3) Islam is a religion of peace. It does not permit the
killing of innocent civilians. Osama bin Laden has called
for the killing of American civilians throughout the
world. It appears he is countermanding the teachings of
the Prophet Muhammad, even trying to usurp His role.
Putting aside the problems Muslims may have with America,
which are understandable, how do Muslims of faith feel
about the "preachings" of Osama bin Laden?
Thank you.
