Darwinism and evolutionism stir considerable debate among 
theologians and some scientists. Many people believe in 
evolution as a way God created humans and all other 
creatures; whereas others consider the Darwinian Theory a 
substitute for the existence of God. 

Groups such as the Young Earth Creationists and Intelligent 
Design advocates believe evolution to be unpersuasive, 
especially due to present day discoveries in the sciences, 
in particular biochemistry. 

Is the ‘conversion’ of a world-famous atheist, proof that 
Darwinism is losing its popularity in philosophical and 
scientific circles? Has the initial fervor of Social 
Darwinism begun to lose its appeal and logic?
