salam alaykum,

with hajj coming ever closer, I want to ask a question to
every Muslim who posts or reads here, out of curiosity.

Most people dont even think of hajj until they are going,
then when they do go, all they think of are the steps, the
fikh and getting all the manasik right.

It isnt until the end of the hajj that they realise what
the hajj is all about, then they want to do hajj again to
get it right the second time.

So, this is my question, what is hajj to you, if you were
going this month, you have prepared everything, clothes,
medicines, taken the vaccines, changed some currency to
saudi riyals, credit cards, everything in order.
You've read the fikh, memorised the steps, got some duaa
books all ready.
You are prepared for the pilgrimage.

Now, my question, what do you expect from this pilgrimage?
God will answer your prayers anywhere, so, what are your
expectations, how do you think hajj would change you?
What will you get out of it, besides hopefully some merits?

when I first went I really thought I would become angelic,
no sins, etc etc, only after hajj I didnt feel in the least
bit like an angel, I only discovered what hajj was all
about last year. :)

thanks to all who answer, and hoping the deep thoughts
necessary for this answer will help all who are planning to
go this year.

ps. anyone going this year, pls pls dont even try to kiss
the black stones, and dont go anywhere near the kaaba
during tawaf, there is a second and third floor, stick to
these if you plan on surviving that is.

salam alaykum
