On CNN's Lou Dobbs show tonight, he interviewed Francis
Fukuyama, a social scientist who wrote the book, _The End
of History and the Last Man_. Fukuyama discussed the above
issue, and for the first time I have an understanding of
what this is about.
Because France and Germany were prime areas where the
terrorist networks gathered prior to 9-11, and because
second and third generation Muslims in Europe have not been
able to assimilate into their adoptive countrys' cultures,
the hijab ban is being used to push toward this.
Islamic *C* won't like this, but, say in France, the
country wants them to become Frenchmen first and Muslims
second; English first and Muslims second; Americans first
and Muslims second. A country demands of its new citizens
the utmost loyalty to the nation. It does not want
citizens who hold first loyalties to others before their
country.
It would appear that when it is pronounced that the Ummah
must stay together, that's the very thing that's causing
the disharmony in the nations to which Muslims immigrate.
This opens up the issue to more discussion.
