One could easily flip the argument and state that Islam has
delcared open war against the West.
Didn't bin Laden declare war on the West in the late 80s?
The first WTC center bombing, the embassy bombings, USS
Cole, and finally 9/11.
I could provide innumerable quotes from muslim leaders in
the West pledging to "Islamify" the US or Britain or some
other Western state. The desire to replace the US
Constitution with sharia. Just one month after 9/11, a
delegate at the American Muslim Alliance convention, held
in San Jose, announced: "By the year 2020, we should have
an American Muslim president of the United States."
Isn't Islam an expansionist ideology, the "highest
religion" that is not just a belief, but an entire life
system?
But are these just radical muslims? Where are the
moderates to denounce these? We hear a lot *about*
moderate muslims, but we rarely see any. Are there any on
this board?
Sites like MEMRI document the continuous stream of
vitriolic anti-Jewish and anti-Western diatribes coming
from mosques, arab press, and other muslim "leaders". Is
this not a form of warfare? Propaganda is a form of
warfare. The continuous propagation of the Protocols as
historical fact, when they know it is outright lies.
And what's the deal with the sensitivity regarding Islam?
Any slight toward the prophet mohammed will likely get you
killed. Ask Salman Rushdie. What's up with that? Going a
little overboard, dontcha think?
Then there's the romanticization of the Taliban. This
murderous band of cavemen mandate burkas and the blowing up
of cultural treasures. Sounds like the very opposite of
progressive to me.
I don't know. Calling it a "war against Islam" sounds very
fishy to me. Maybe "war against radical Islam" (if there
is such a distinction). But in my view, one could easily
characterize it as a "War against the West" by radical
Islam. It would be a lot more accurate. |
